The Microsoft Tablet PC Operating System is now in its second year of existence and second generation systems are now appearing on the market. Toshiba was one of the popular first generation tablet manufacturers with its Portege notebook but many people were unwilling to jump in on the first round due to the weak system performances of these tablets. Most hardware manufacturers used the low powered ULV Pentium III processor which helped to conserve power consumption but at the cost of processor performance. The new second generation tablets ditch the Pentium III processor in favor of the Intel Centrino system which utilizes the powerful Pentium M processor. The Toshiba Portege M205 Tablet PC is one of these new second generation tablets which houses a Pentium M processor in a convertible system. Convertible systems are different from Slate tablets in that they can function as both a Tablet or as a Notebook PC. I've spent nearly a month using the M205 in both modes - let's take a look at how the M205 fares.
