1. Introduction
If you ask me, 2002 was the year of the Small Form
Factor (SFF) Personal Computer. Systems based on all sorts of motherboard
formats and case designs were unveiled this year to a surprisingly large
demand. Perhaps Do It Yourself (DIY) hobbyists were just bored of the
standard PC cases designs – I know I was. Perhaps we just loved
having real estate back on our desktops and floors. OR perhaps system
integrators finally figured out a way to bring all these various technologies
onto one small motherboard format. Whatever the reason, SFF is IN! From
mini ITX to Flex ATX designs, systems of all sorts of shapes and sizes
are sprouting all around the net and the world. As we approach the end
of this year, we find more vendors coming out with their own implementation
of a SFF system just to make sure that they have a competing model. One
of the recent new vendors is Impression and today we’re going to
take a look at their new MiniQ P4-533 Aluminum Mini Barebones system.
The Impression MiniQ P4 is the same system that JetWay manufacturers but
under a different brand name. On the surface, this looks to be another
cube system like the Shuttle XPC series. However Impression looks to drive
sales by targeting the entertainment market with the MiniQ. How does Impression
do and what is the MiniQ P4-533 like? Read on and find out.

We’d like to thank AJump.com for sending us
the MiniQ to evaluate.
