The IBM ThinkPad
series has always been considered one of the very best mobile computing
lines out there. The
ThinkPad has always set the standards
bar for laptop technologies. Though the ThinkPad was usually pricier
than others, it’s easy to see that you get what you pay for. With
the recent introduction of the Intel Centrino Mobile Technology, it was
time to look at what new ThinkPad models would be unveiled to support
this initiative. As such, I was quick to jump on obtaining the new IBM
ThinkPad T40 when it released in April 2003. I’ve been using the
ThinkPad T40 for my job over the last few months and I can finally spend
some time reviewing this awesome laptop. The T40 replaces my aging T21
which had served me nicely for over two years. Would the T40 surpass
the T21’s performance and quality? (Of course it would!) Is it
still worth it to pay a premium for these ThinkPad notebooks? (It better
be!) Let’s find out!
