2. Building the duallie

To start things off, we’ll go over the different components that I used in putting together my new duallie and then step into the construction process itself. For those of you who already know how to build computers, you can skip on to chapter 3 to see the results of the system.

2.1 Component List

As with all systems, you will need your basic components such as memory, hard drives and graphics cards and of course your two processors. Here’s a breakdown of the components used in my new system

4. 2 – 256 MB PC 133 RAM from Crucial

8. 1 – Toshiba DVD-ROM
9. 1 - Sunflower 201T Blue Aluminum Case
10. 1 – NetGear Network Interface Card
11. 1 – USB/Firewire card

2.2 Laying everything out

While preparing to build this server, I laid out all the various components that I would be using to construct my system. Here are some of the pictures that I took of all the pieces of hardware. Hard to find the dining room table after all of this!
