Overview

Let's take some time to evaluate the physical overview of the Wave Master TAC-T01. Here's a picture of the case from afar - not a bad looking case eh? Does the front look familiar? Well it's got the similar front wave design that we saw with the Thermaltake Tsunami - not exacting but similar. Here are close up shots of the top of the front panel.

The front of the case

Here's a look at the bottom of the front.

The bottom of the front of the case The buttons

There are two buttons - one large one for "Power On" and one small one for "Reset". There is a blue LED for hard disk activity. Where is the power LED you might ask? Well there are a few blue LEDs behind that the front section that shine a cool bluish glow when the system is powered but more on this later on.

Flip open the door (which opens from left to right - opposite of the Thermaltake Tsunami) and you will see the following:

Front drive bays

Let's take a look at the door - there's not much too it actually. There is no latch securing the door in place but rather a thin magnetic strip which provides a minimal amount of adhesion between the chassis and the door. The weak magnetic force results in the door flinging open fairly easily.

Here's a picture of the top front of the case:

Top of the front of the case

With all the coolness of the front wave pattern, the sides of the chassis are definitely ho-hum. There's no window or pattern etched into either side. Here's what the left and right look like - look pretty much the same eh?

Let's focus on the rear of the case now - here's a shot of the back:

back of the case

You'll notice one rear fan exhaust visible from the back and your usual array of openings for accessories.

There is no power supply unit bundled with the TAC-T01 so make sure you have one handy.

PSU opening

Cooler Master actually packages all the parts that come with the case into a cardboard box secured within the PSU section of the case.

In the usual Cooler Master fashion, thumbscrews are heavily used to secure panels into place.

You might think we're done but wait there's more! Just like the Thermaltake Tsunami, there is a top cover hiding more external port openings.

Press the edge of the cover to open the top cover. Here's a picture of what the top cover is hiding:
