Quick Jump:

Overview

The following is a picture of the gITX.

As you can see, the case has an industrial look and feel with an aluminum and hard plastic body enclosed in thick acrylic panels.

The front of the gITX has one 5.25" drive bay suitable for a full size optical disk drive. To the right of the drive bay are all the buttons and I/O ports. You'll find the Power button, Power LED, HDD LED, and Reset button followed by two USB ports, Microphone-In port, Speaker-Out port, and one Firewire port.

The front, top, and bottom panels are made of thick acrylic providing a smooth shiny exterior on top of the aluminum side panels. The side panels have vents allowing air to flow in and out of the case - important for a case that has very little interior room.

Here is the shot of the rear of the case:

To get into the case, you need to remove two thumbscrews from the rear and then slide the top panel off.

Here's a shot of the inside of the case.

Along the right hand side of the case towards the back is the 150 watt power supply. Will this be sufficient for the Pentium 4 motherboard that we'll be using during setup? We'll soon find out.

Here's a shot of the drive cage near the front of the case which houses the drives that can be installed into this case. The drive cage has an aluminum face plate attached to it that covers the open 5.25" drive bay. If you don't plan on using an optical drive here, you can keep the faceplate on or even mod your drives to utilize the aluminum face plate provided by AMS.

Towards the rear of the case is the Xross Blade Cooling Technology. The cooler is held into place by four small screws attached to the rear panel. The Xross is a set of aluminum fins that rotate to bring out hot air from within the case. The fan is extremely quiet during operations but will it be effective to removing hot air from the case?
