Introduction
I still remember my very first webcam. It
was 1996 and I had just purchased the Logitech QuickCam for my Pentium
90 MHz system. I was running Windows
95 at the time and the webcam seemed like the perfect cool gadget for
my system. Of course once I obtained the camera, I sat there realizing
that I didn’t really have much use for the QuickCam afterall. Most
of my friends did not have the appropriate internet connections to make
viewing streaming videos a viable solution at the time. Years later,
I’ve decided to take a look at the webcam market again mostly for
business needs. Since I spend a good portion of my time in a remote location
from my work place, a webcam makes much more sense now especially when
it comes to making conference calls with the headquarters. To accommodate
mobile users, Logitech has created a small camera called the QuickCam
for Notebooks Pro. This innovative camera is small, lightweight and easy
to tote around wherever you go. I recently got a hold of one for my laptop
so let’s see how it performs.
Packaging
The QuickCam for Notebooks Pro comes in a
rectangular plastic packaging. The box highlights the small camera
and doesn’t use up that much
space either. Inside, you’ll find the following components:
- Logitech QuickCam
- Travel Case
- Drivers and Software CD
- Setup Manuals
