5. Summary
So was it worth it for me to upgrade to the EX-M2?
For my own purposes - the answer is unequivocal yes. The increase in image
resolution is a major upgrade for those looking to print out their capture
pictures on 4x6 inch photo paper. The downsides to this new model include
a slightly slower lens and a slightly larger camera frame. Is it that
noticeable? That would really depend on the user at hand and what they
intend to do with the camera. For me, the size is still just right because
it fits in my shirt pocket and in my jeans easily. Since I don't need
to take pictures in rapid succession, the slower lens will not make a
difference to me. Now there are those out there who may need the snappy
nature of the original EX-M1 and in this case, I would probably stick
with the EX-M1. However, if the slower lens speeds and the slightly longer
physical lens housing make very little difference to you, then there's
no reason not to choose the EX-M2 over the EX-M1. The price difference
is minimal enough and you get a well constructed camera that will wow
your family, friends, coworkers, and complete strangers. All in all -
an excellent camera for those occasions where you don't want to carry
a bulky larger digital camera. Kudos to Casio.
